My unit got changed to, 224th Aviation as a combat wheel mechanic. Luckily I got stationed here in Bangor, Maine. I am still a 91 Bravo, My ship date is that of June 18th of this year.
Today I swore into the Army National Guard. The idea of giving your life for your country, and the man standing on your left and right, was lingering through the air. The long day of taking tests, from physical to mental, dawned on the day. As bright and early moved into late and dreary, it all came together, my military contract. I stared at multiple pages of my life and what I have done to this very day, none of it being more important then what I was in the process of doing. When standing at attention in front of the captain I was shaking, not due to his rank, but to the life I was producing. With the final words completed in the oath the pressure was off. No more going back, no more “what am I going to do with my life”, it all came together. I hope now for luck, and to everyone out there today, in every branch of military, the best, and a safe trip home.
I start living…today. Horah.
